Successful Psychiatric Appointments Class

Description: This 1.5 hour class is intended for all Nurses and Direct Service Professionals who take people with developmental and other disabilities to psychiatric appointments. Knowing how to prepare for the appointment is essential in getting the most out of the precious time you have with the psychiatrist. Managing risks and addressing challenging behavior ensures the appointment will go smoothly. Understanding psychiatric medication monitoring (PMUC) and regulatory paperwork requirements are also important. This class will define the issues and present effective methods that can be implemented across a variety of medical appointments settings.
